Bible Study

Holy Trinity offers several opportunities to participate in a Catholic Bible Study. If you have wanted to study and pray with Scripture, consider joining one of the following groups.  Most groups meet in the Spiritual Life Center.  Each group selects its own study materials.  Below you will find the study themes and dates planned for the fall of 2020.

Sunday morning – 9:45-10:45 AM in the Adult Formation Rooms

Topic TBD  Facilitators are Susan Means and Eunice McGuire. 

Dates are September 13, 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1,8,15, 22, December 6, 13, 20.

Monday afternoon- 12:30 – 2:30 PM in the Spiritual Life Center.  Arrive  at 12:30 for hospitality and prayer; the study begins at 1 PM.

Mercy by Fr. Mitch Pacwa –rediscover the incredible history of God’s mercy in your own life, which in turn will lead you to an understanding of the importance of extending God’s love and mercy to the world around you. The study book is $8. Facilitators are Rachel Schrepferman and Susan Spalding.  Dates are September 14, 21, 28, October 5, 19, 26, November 2,9, 16.

 

Wednesday morning – 8:30-10:30 AM in the Spiritual Life Center

Wednesday evening – 7-8:30 PM in the Spiritual Life Center

Thursday morning – 9:30-11:30 AM in the Spiritual Life Center.  Come at 9:30 AM to pray the rosary before the session if you’d like.  Study begins at 10 AM.

The Sacraments –with Bishop Robert Barron.  There is far more to these ancient rites than meets the eye. In this follow-up to The Mass, Bishop Barron looks at the great sacraments of the Church in all their theological depth, spiritual effects, and pastoral promise.  Six sessions.  Study guide is $20.  Facilitator is Mary Feger.  Dates are: watch the bulletin

 

Saturday morning – 8-9:30 AM in the Spiritual Life Center

Pivotal Players: Fulton Sheen and Flannery O’Connor with Bishop Robert Barron. Bishop Barron’s series on major characters who influenced Western civilization continues with a look at the lives of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen and author Flannery O’Connor.  Dates are September 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14, 21.


If you do not have time to join a formal study, there are Catholic CDs , DVDs and books available for you to purchase on a number of topics.  These can be found in the information area of the gathering space.  You can also find a wealth of Catholic content on Formed.org - movies, podcasts, documentaries, studies, ect.
